LAS VEGAS — One man was killed and another injured yesterday after a bomb exploded in the parking lot of the Luxor Hotel.
The explosion happened at 4 a.m. after the victim tried to remove the object left on top of his car. The man apparently worked at a hot dog stand, The Associated Press reported.
“This appears to have been a small device that was constructed in such a way to target a single individual victim,” The Associated Press quoted Deputy Ls Vegas Police Chief Ted Moody as saying.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are on the scene.
“We believe the victim was the intended target of this,” Bill Cassell said, spokesperson for Las Vegas police. “This is being treated as a homicide in which the weapon used to cause death is a non-traditional weapon.”
